The term reiken, literally “sacred sword” or “spirit sword,” designates in Japanese the blades that, according to tradition, possess qualities not only material but also metaphysical. Examples include the three imperial regalia (Kusanagi, Yata no Kagami, Yasakani no Magatama) and the blades preserved in shrines as objects of veneration. The Katana Reiken belongs to this symbolic lineage.
The T10 steel blade (60–62 HRC hardness, nagasa approximately 70 cm) is finished with a high-level polish. The tsuka is wrapped over genuine rayskin (authentic samegawa), an element traditionally reserved for high-ranking mountings: its natural granular texture beneath the ito delivers a visually rich structure.
The fittings adopt a sacred palette: royal purple ito over authentic samegawa, a bronze tsuba chiseled with a magatama motif (the sacred beads of Shinto), a saya lacquered in jet-black urushi lacquer with gold detailing at the cord fittings, and purple sageo. Gold-burnished habaki.
A piece for collectors drawn to ceremonial replicas, a display piece for home altars or meditation rooms, and a gift for those who have visited Atsuta-jingu — where the original Kusanagi is enshrined. A katana that carries a sacred aura.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
