The story behind the blade
The Viking Sword Type X: Wrath of Yggdrasil follows the Petersen typology of 1919, which classifies Norwegian swords of the 9th–11th centuries into 26 distinct types (A–Z). Type X features a wide double-edged blade with a central fuller, rounded crossguard, and three-lobed pommel.
Blade in EN45 harmonic carbon steel. Yggdrasil is the cosmic tree of Norse mythology, binding the nine worlds together. A philologically sound replica prized by the most exacting Viking reenactors (Foteviken, Trelleborg, Wolin), cosplayers of Norse warriors from the Icelandic sagas, and decorators of Nordic mythology-themed studies. The three-lobed pommel and wide blade are the defining typological markers of the Petersen Type X, extensively documented in Baltic Sea excavations.
Intended for collection, display, and decoration only. Not designed for functional use (combat, cutting, sparring, or martial training).
