The suiren is the water lily — literally “sleeping lotus” in Japanese characters. It grows on the still lakes of temples and landscape gardens, and its blossoms open only during the day, closing at sunset like drowsy eyes. The Katana Suiren is built to evoke that meditative lakeside atmosphere.
The blade, in 1060 carbon steel (58–60 HRC hardness, nagasa approximately 70 cm), is polished with an opaline finish that shows pink-white reflections in passing light, recalling the petals of the aquatic flower. The sori curve is delicate, in keeping with the grace of the evoked symbol.
The fittings translate the lakeside theme through a pastel palette: cream-white ito over light samegawa, a silver tsuba engraved with an eight-petal water lily motif, a water-green lacquered saya with white gradients, and an antique-rose sageo. Habaki in matte silver.
A replica to consider when the display environment offers broad, diffused light: living rooms with large windows, bright display cases, spacious entryways. Appreciated by those who have visited the gardens at Giverny, or by collectors with a preference for pastel palettes.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
