The sakura — the cherry blossom — is Japan’s most celebrated natural icon: every year from late March to early May, the entire archipelago becomes a calendar of bloom running from southern Kyushu to northern Hokkaido. Hanami, the viewing of the blossoms, draws millions of people to picnic beneath the petals. The Katana Sakura captures this quality of annual floral celebration.
The Damascus steel blade (hardness 58–60 HRC, nagasa approximately 70 cm) displays layered patterns reminiscent of petal veining. The tsuka is wrapped over genuine rayskin (authentic samegawa) before the ito covering — a mark of quality found only in higher-tier replicas.
The fittings embrace the hanami palette: dusty pink ito over authentic rayskin, light-alloy tsuba chiseled with a classic five-petal cherry blossom motif, old rose lacquered saya with white gradations (petals scattered on the ground), powder pink sageo. Burnished silver habaki.
For hanami enthusiasts, spring-themed living rooms, or as a gift for those who have traveled Japan between March and May — a katana that brings the archipelago’s most iconic symbol home.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
