Tsubasa means wings — of birds, of aircraft, of mythical Japanese creatures like the tengu. In contemporary symbolism wings have become an icon of freedom and soaring ambition. In the kanji 翼, two feathers overlap as if mid-flight. The Katana Tsubasa carries that same quality of aerial lift.
The blade features a distinctive finish: hammered Damascus steel — Damascus worked with a controlled hammer technique that leaves shallow depressions across the surface, an effect reminiscent of feathers ruffled by a current of air. Nagasa approximately 70 cm, hardness 58–60 HRC.
The fittings carry an airy palette: cream-white ito braided over light rayskin, silver-patinated tsuba with a motif of two overlapping feathers, sky-blue lacquered saya with white gradations (the effect of distant clouds), cream sageo. Burnished silver habaki.
Perfect for aviation history enthusiasts or collectors drawn to symbols of freedom — a display piece for living rooms with large sky-facing windows, or a gift for pilots and those who have completed a great journey. A katana that carries the sensation of flight.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
