The story behind the blade

The Andúril Sword of Aragorn, «Flame of the West», is the reforging of the shards of Narsil, presented to Aragorn by Elrond at Rivendell in The Return of the King. The blade is crafted from stainless steel with an elegant profile and Elvish Tengwar engravings, an open golden-winged crossguard, and a pommel decorated with the star of the Dúnedain of Arnor.

One of the most beloved Tolkien replicas in the world, a symbol of the king’s return and the rebirth of Gondor. Prized by Aragorn cosplayers at Minas Tirith banquets, by Peter Jackson fans, and by collectors of Middle-earth weapons. It pairs beautifully with the Andúril scabbard and the crown of Gondor — two accessories that complete the character of the King.

How to care for your blade

After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.

Is this sword sharpened?

Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.

Is it legal to own a sword?

Yes — owning a sword in your home is perfectly legal in the United States, whether for collection, decoration, historical reenactment, or sport practice (HEMA). Carrying it in public is restricted by state and local laws: a sword is considered a bladed weapon, and transporting it outside your home without a legitimate reason (event, training, transport to a club) may be subject to local regulations. Our pieces ship in a scabbard and protective packaging suitable for initial transport from our warehouse to your home.

Beautiful reproduction and good delivery times (2 weeks). The blade has an excellent finish; the empty spaces in the guard's quillons as well as the pommel had small excess material, quickly corrected with a file (as any modeler knows, no model is perfect, which takes nothing away from the quality of the product). These elements are still of excellent workmanship.…

Long delivery times since it was a pre-order received late; but otherwise a quality sword, the scabbard is also beautiful although the leather strap seems a bit fragile. Very happy with my purchase :)
