Forging
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
Every piece is unique, hand-forged
Yuugure is the moment when the sun, having dropped below the rooftops, leaves the sky in a shade of liquid copper. It was the favorite hour of Edo-period painters, who pursued it in ukiyo-e prints for its indirect light. The Katana Yuugure is built to be admired within exactly that color.
The 1060 carbon steel blade is finished with a polish that responds especially well to warm light: the steel grain, normally silvery, takes on copper-tinted reflections when the surroundings shift to red-orange. Blade length approximately 70 cm, hardness 58–60 HRC, standard kissaki.
The fittings extend the chromatic metaphor: terracotta-colored ito on samegawa, patinated copper tsuba with a sun-behind-clouds motif, scabbard lacquered in burnt-brown that displays golden undertones under warm light, powder-pink sageo. Polished brass habaki.
An ideal display piece for west-facing living rooms, libraries with large windows, and spaces where afternoon sunlight lingers before fading. A katana that knows how to make itself noticed in the most fleeting hour.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
