The violet (sumire) is one of the first flowers to appear in Japan, often before the snow has fully melted. It grows in mountain meadows in shades ranging from deep purple to lavender. To waka poets it symbolizes modest perseverance—beauty that does not ask for attention. The Katana Sumire shares this quiet character.
The T10 steel blade is prized in premium replicas for its tungsten content, which allows a compact structure and a deep polish. Edge hardness reaches 60–62 HRC. Nagasa approximately 70 cm, mirror finish, classical sori curvature of the Soshu school.
The fittings offer a delicate floral palette: pale violet ito braided over light samegawa, silver-alloy tsuba with a violet-petal motif, scabbard lacquered in lavender with cream sageo. Patinated silver habaki to stay in tone with the overall composition.
A replica for collectors’ showcases with botanical sensibility, ideal for feminine spaces or rooms with abundant natural light, and a gift for enthusiasts of ikebana and Japanese decorative arts. A katana that does not seek to claim a space—it inhabits it quietly.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
