Hayate is the rapid wind, the sudden gust: the one that crosses a room when you open a window in autumn, the one that carries a sheet of paper off a table before you can catch it. It is a word that combines speed and lightness, and it has become a name for characters throughout contemporary Japanese fiction. The Katana Hayate evokes this quality of swift passage.
The carbon steel 1060 blade (58–60 HRC, nagasa approximately 27.5 in.) carries an authentic undulating hamon that recalls the trajectories of wind across tall grass. The differential hardening process leaves the organic hardness line clearly visible.
The fittings favor airy tones: breeze-gray ito over light samegawa, a light-alloy tsuba with a wind-lifted leaf motif, a pale-blue lacquered saya with white sageo, and patinated silver habaki.
A piece for those who favor quick rhythms and light palettes, a decorative accent for well-ventilated and bright living spaces, and a gift for runners or cyclists who appreciate purposeful, wind-inspired design. A katana that brings the feeling of a fresh, wind-swept morning indoors.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
