In Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima (2020), Jin Sakai is the last samurai of Tsushima Island, forced to abandon the bushido to defend his people against the Mongol invasion of 1274. His katana, seen throughout hundreds of cutscenes, has become a modern icon of Japanese weaponry in gaming. The Ghost of Tsushima Premium Katana sharpened edition is the top-of-the-line replica of this legendary blade.

The blade (nagasa approximately 70 cm) features a deep mirror finish with dark-silver reflections, consistent with the game’s visual aesthetic. The sori curvature is restrained, faithful to the in-game weapon profile. What sets the “Premium” edition apart: superior technical craftsmanship with richer decorative detailing than the standard version.

How to care for your blade

After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.

Is this sword sharpened?

Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.
