Forging
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
Every piece is unique, hand-forged
“The most beautiful sword is the one that needs no clothing.”—a proverb attributed to the warrior monks (sōhei) of Mount Hiei, 13th century.
The Katana Choshi is a shirasaya: the “white scabbard” that ancient swordsmiths used to store blades between wars. No tsuka-ito, no elaborate tsuba, no glossy lacquer. Only naturally turned wood, visible grain, matte finish. The 1060 carbon steel blade (58–60 HRC) emerges from the scabbard with a brilliance made all the more dramatic by the contrast.
Beloved by purist collectors, contemporary warrior monks, practitioners of Zen iaidō, and anyone who values substance over ornament. Sharpened blade, brass habaki, full tang. A sword for those with nothing to prove.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
