The Byakko is the guardian of the western cardinal point among the Four Celestial Spirits: a great white tiger that rules autumn and the element of metal. In Japanese and Chinese temples, its profile decorates the west-facing walls of sacred enclosures. The Katana Byakko joins this thematic cardinal series.
The T10 steel blade (nagasa approximately 27.5 in., 60–62 HRC hardness) is polished to a bright mirror finish that returns white-silver highlights — like the mythological tiger’s coat caught in the light of a waning moon.
The fittings embrace the western palette: pearl-white ito over light samegawa, a patinated silver tsuba with a tiger-stripe motif (fine overlapping lines), a saya lacquered in ivory white with silver reflections, and light-gray sageo. Burnished silver habaki.
A piece that pairs naturally with the Katana Suzaku, Seiryu, or Genbu for anyone wishing to complete the Four Spirits series, suited to rooms with large west-facing windows, and a gift for those who prefer neutral palettes. A katana that closes the fourth cardinal point.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
