Some katanas are made to evoke a specific era, a mythical figure, a ritual practice. And then there is the Traditional Katana: a replica that seeks not to quote anything in particular, but to restore the essential form of the Japanese katana — the form that has remained substantially unchanged for nine centuries. Its signature is the gilding on Damascus steel.
The gilded Damascus steel blade (nagasa approximately 70 cm, hardness 58–60 HRC) is finished with a permanent gilding over the Damascus patterns: the layered strata remain visible in transparency, but with a warm golden base tone. A chromatic effect reminiscent of the ceremonial blades of Edo-period noble houses, displayed at the entrances of samurai residences.
The fittings follow classical canon in a golden palette: cobalt blue ito (contrast with the gold) braided over rayskin, burnished gold tsuba with a stylized feather motif, black urushi-lacquered saya with gold sageo. Burnished gold habaki.
For those seeking a classic katana without specific narrative references — a display piece for elegant living rooms with neutral decor, or a gift for someone who wants a versatile replica that suits any interior. A katana that is above all itself, without narrative masks.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
