“Vincent” — Saint Vincent of Zaragoza, deacon martyr of the 4th century, patron of Lisbon and Zaragoza. The braccae were the defining male garment of Celtic and Germanic peoples, in contrast to the Roman toga.

Mid-rise waist with internal drawstring, straight moderately wide leg, length to the calf or below the ankle. Sturdy fabric that allows a full range of motion.

Versatile for Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Frankish, and Viking recreations. Well suited to rural and free-class characters. Pairs with leg wraps for an accurate historical look, or with tall boots for a knightly interpretation.

How to care for your blade

After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.

Is this sword sharpened?

Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.
