Viking Tunic “Snorri” with Urnes-Style Embroidery
The “Snorri” Viking tunic honors Snorri Sturluson, the 13th-century Icelander who compiled the Prose Edda and preserved much of what we know about Norse mythology. The embroidery follows the Urnes style — the interlacing serpentine animal motifs identified at the Norwegian stave church of Urnes — one of the most recognizable ornamental traditions of late Viking art. A piece made for ásatrú ceremonies, historically focused Viking festivals, and Norse reenactment banquets.

The story behind the blade
“Snorri” is the name of Snorri Sturluson, the 13th-century Icelander who compiled the Prose Edda and transmitted much of Norse mythology to the modern world. The embroidery follows the Urnes style — named for the Norwegian stave church where the motif was identified — one of the most recognizable designs in late Viking art.
A long tunic with a V neckline, embroidered decoration across the front that follows the serpentine interlaced animal motifs of the Urnes period (11th century). Structured fabric that lets the embroidery read clearly.
Worn at ásatrú ceremonies, historically rigorous Viking festivals, and medieval Icelandic banquet reconstructions. Combine with bronze cuffs and a round-buckle belt.
