The story behind the blade
The Napoleonic Saber in its sharpened version is a replica of the dragoon model from the Grande Armée: the sabre à la chasseur of the French light cavalry. Long curved blade, four-branched stylized crossguard, black leather grip reinforced with brass wire, tornado-style pommel engraved with the imperial seal.
A historical replica of the swords carried by Marbot, Lasalle, and the Napoleonic generals across the campaigns of Italy, Egypt, and Russia. This Napoleonic saber is prized by collectors of First French Empire arms, Grande Armée reenactors, and decorators of Bonaparte-themed studies. It pairs naturally with a dragoon uniform, fur busby, and leather sword belt.

How to care for your blade
After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.
Is this sword sharpened?
Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.
