Birka Viking Cloak “Skadi” Olive

The “Skadi” cloak takes its name from the Norse giantess-huntress, goddess of skis and winter mountains, inspired by cloaks found in 9th–10th century Scandinavian female graves at Birka. It is crafted for historical reenactment, festivals, and LARP. The olive tone blends naturally into forested outdoor settings.

The art of costume

“Skaði” is the giantess-huntress of Norse mythology, goddess of skiing and winter mountains, wife of Njord. The Birka Viking cloak was found in female Scandinavian graves of the 9th–10th centuries. This olive version adopts the tone of fabrics dyed with northern lichens (parmelia, evernia).

A wide cloak draped over the shoulders, fastened with a Scandinavian brooch or pin, falling to mid-calf. The olive tone is unobtrusive in forested environments.

Worn by Scandinavian hunters and rangers in LARP, and by those playing characters of the free class of the north. Particularly photogenic against pine and birch landscapes.
