The art of costume

“Halfdan” means “half-Dane” in Old Norse — a name common among children of Norwegian-Danish unions. The Skjoldehamn Gugel is an archaeological hood-mantle recovered from Norwegian excavations in 1936, dated to the 11th–12th century. The wolf embroidery evokes the animal motifs central to Norse visual culture.

Integrated hood covering the head and falling over the shoulders, mid-length body coverage protecting the torso, decorative stylized wolf embroidery. An ornamented interpretation of the classic Skjoldehamn form.

Worn for high-solemnity pagan ceremonies (Ásatrú, Forn Sed), shaman and druid cosplay from the Norse tradition, and strongly pagan-themed editorial shoots. Pairs well with a dark tunic and raw wool trousers.

Available colors: Brown
