Kihaku is a layered word: it means spiritual force, inner intensity, the intangible presence you sense in someone who truly possesses it. It is a central concept in kido, in kyudo (Zen archery), and in contemplative martial arts: a master develops it through years of discipline, and students learn to recognize it. The Katana Kihaku channels that quality of silent intensity.
The Damascus steel blade with an authentic hamon (nagasa approximately 70 cm, hardness 58–60 HRC) carries a double metallurgical signature: Damascus layers visible in depth and a differential temper line at the surface.
The tsuka is wrapped over genuine ray skin (authentic samegawa). The fittings adopt intense, sober tones: heavy black ito, a patinated iron tsuba with a single minimalist geometric motif, a fully matte-black lacquered saya, and black sageo. Burnished iron habaki.
A display piece for those who practice zazen or a contemplative martial art, a dojo or minimalist studio accent, or a gift for readers of Eugen Herrigel (Zen in the Art of Archery) or D.T. Suzuki. A katana that radiates presence without saying a word.

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.
The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.
The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.
The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.
Each blade is crafted by master artisans according to traditional forging techniques.
