The story behind the blade

The Briquet Saber, model of the Year XI (1802–1803), was the standard arm of Napoleon’s line infantry: short curved blade, stylized brass basket guard, ergonomic reinforced leather grip. This sharpened version is a faithful historical reproduction associated with the campaigns of Italy, Egypt, and Russia.

A high-end replica for collectors of Napoleonic arms, Grande Armée reenactors, and cosplayers of soldiers from Marbot’s memoirs or Tolstoy’s War and Peace. How to care for your blade
After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.
Is this sword sharpened?
Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.

This saber owes nothing to romantic imagination, it is functional and beautiful. All that remains is to find an engraver to christen it properly.
