The story behind the blade

In FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019), the Mortal Blade (Fushigiri) is one of the rarest and most legendary weapons: a blade that pierces the realm of immortality, kept in the Senpou Temple among the monks of the Dragon’s Heritage. Its striking violet aesthetic — colored saya and distinctive tsuba — made it an icon of the game. The Sekiro Mortal Blade Katana Purple sharpened edition reproduces this sacred blade.

The blade (nagasa approximately 70 cm) features a violet-bordeaux finish, a rare chromatic treatment: the patina shifts the surface toward the color of the Mortal Blade as seen in the game’s cutscenes. The mirror polish captures reflections that evoke the weapon’s mystical in-game appearance.

The fittings follow the FromSoftware design: tsuka wrapped in deep violet ito over dark samegawa, dark alloy tsuba with a stylized skull motif (referencing the blade’s mystical nature), saya lacquered in deep violet with black accents, lavender sageo, and burnished silver habaki.

An essential piece for fans of Sekiro and FromSoftware’s soulslike catalog (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne), a complement for Wolf or the Sculptor cosplay, and décor for action-RPG gaming rooms. A katana that captures the aura of the Senpou Temple and its immortal monks.

Intended for collection, display, and decoration only. Not designed for functional use (combat, cutting, sparring, or martial training).

Every blade, three stages

Time-honored craft. Masterful gesture. A one-of-a-kind, hand-forged piece built to last.

01

Forging

The blade takes shape beneath the hammer. Each layer of steel is folded and re-welded under heat to create a core that is both strong and flexible.

02

Tempering

The steel is brought to high temperature, then quenched rapidly: this fast cooling hardens the edge and reveals the hamon, the wavy line that runs along the blade.

03

Polishing

The smith hand-polishes the blade with natural stones of increasing grit, revealing its luster, its edge, and the soul of the steel.

Frequently asked questions

How to care for your blade
After every use, wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints. Carbon steel reacts to humidity and the natural acids on your skin: a light coat of mineral oil (Ballistol or camellia oil) applied once or twice a month protects against corrosion for the long term. For extended storage, keep the sword outside its scabbard, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If a rust spot appears, gently buff it with a very fine stone and oil it immediately. A well-cared-for blade lasts through generations.
Is this sword sharpened?
Our carbon steel blades (1045, 1060, T10, Damascus) all ship sharpened by our partner smiths. Stainless steel blades (420, 440), made for collection and display, are not sharpened.
What are the shipping times?
Ships within 7 business days for in-stock items. If the item is on preorder, the expected date is shown at the top of the page.
Can I return my order?
Yes, you have 30 days from delivery to return it.
Is it legal to own a sword?
Yes — owning a sword in your home is perfectly legal in the United States, whether for collection, decoration, historical reenactment, or sport practice (HEMA). Carrying it in public is restricted by state and local laws: a sword is considered a bladed weapon, and transporting it outside your home without a legitimate reason (event, training, transport to a club) may be subject to local regulations. Our pieces ship in a scabbard and protective packaging suitable for initial transport from our warehouse to your home.
Is payment secure?
Yes, completely. Our store is protected by an SSL certificate (https://) that encrypts all communications between your browser and our site. Payments are processed directly by Stripe and PayPal — we never have access to your card details (card number, CVV, expiration date). Your information is shared only between you and the payment processor, never through our servers.
